The Importance of a Professional Sales Service - Dealing with Specialist Technicians
We are sure that you will now appreciate how important it is to deal with a specialist supplier of such a high quality piano as Yamaha.
You must receive accurate and non-persuasive advice, with adequate technical information so that you are not misled.
Some piano salesmen/women's sales pitch is usually based on their experience with playing each model, rather than technically working on them. Typically, "this model sounds better. I think it's because it has better components". Well, you need to know what component(s) are better, if at all. It can sometimes be that the "better" model was properly prepared, encouraging the sale, but the core components that are responsible for the tonal characteristics were actually identical. If you were looking at cars, who's advice would you listen to - a mechanic, or a salesman?
If you play a piano in a showroom and are not impressed, it may have been that the piano was not properly prepared and consequently you preferred another model that was properly prepared. Sometimes, that other piano is simply more beneficial for the dealer to sell - but may be inferior yet more profitable or, more than often, more expensive and more profitable - yet not technically much better, if at all.
When you try pianos, they should all be equally prepared to ensure a fair trial. Then you should play 2 or 3 pianos that are identical models and have been prepared differently. This enables you to preview the difference between mellow, neutral or bright. Once decided, the skilled technician can prepare your piano to your liking.
It doesn't stop there - who will deliver your piano? A low-price delivery firm or a specialist moving team for careful and professional installation? There are few smaller piano dealers in each town with the facility to display a comprehensive range of pianos, available from stock, with pre - prepared examples and offering competitive prices. Pianos are expensive instruments and sometimes to see the right pianos with satisfactory showroom facilities and a fair discount offered, you have to travel.
What happens if something goes wrong with the piano? Will the dealer travel all that way? Unlikely. We have a network of independent tuner technicians all across the mainland, (excluding some very rural locations) with some we have dealt with for over 20 years. There are some dealers who sell nationwide, but can't actually service the guarantee and aftersales as they do not have an established relationship with any technicians in your area. Your piano will require tuning 4 weeks after delivery and we will provide the contact details for the technician so you can make the arrangement at your convenience.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to call either Chris or Will Venables (the partners and technicians) and we will be delighted to help you. Our advice service is free of charge and without any obligation. We are a caring family business and do not employ any salesmen. We rely on the strength of our reputation and business through recommendation, and can therefore assure you of our high standards. We are Yamaha's official No.1 Award Winning Top UK Piano Dealer. We have been specialists in the supply and servicing of Yamaha pianos since 1981.
We guarantee to offer our lowest prices on all new Yamaha pianos. We do need to make a small charge for as a contribution to delivery costs (upright piano £100, grand piano £150) by our specialist piano moving team (ground floor mainland UK - additional charge for stair work).
